Climate change is an imminent global challenge which calls for urgent actions from the government, the private sector and the civil society to reduce carbon emissions. One of the tools to reduce carbon emissions is to conduct carbon audit to calculate carbon emissions and identify room for improvement. The HKSAR Government has been taking the lead to carry out carbon audits on major Government buildings and public facilities. As required by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), all listed companies must disclose greenhouse gas emissions on a “comply or explain” basis. To provide a platform for listed companies to share experiences in carbon audits and carbon management, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the HKSAR Government and HKEX had jointly organised an online Carbon Audit Seminar for Listed Companies on 6 November 2020. The video of this Seminar is available at HKTDC Autumn Sourcing Week丨ONLINE.
